One more shot for rock and souler Lynne Jackaman
Celebrated singer songwriter set to deliver the best bits of chart-topping debut One Shot on Tyneside before lifting the lid on first new music in five years
Robert Plant, Ronnie Wood, Glenn Hughes and the late, great Terry Reid all agreed when it came to powerhouse performer Lynne Jackaman: they were unanimous in their verdict that the soulful blues rocker was a generational talent with potential to burn.
After bursting onto the scene with the award-winning Saint Jude, the charismatic Londoner hot footed it to Muscle Shoals and the world renowned FAME Studios to cut her solo debut.
And Lynne heads to the North East in the New Year on a mission to showcase the very best of that chart-topping record — the critically acclaimed One Shot — before launching into the next chapter of a colourful career.
“I’ve been back in the studio with a brand new band and I feel like I’m on the precipice of something special again,” explains a fiercely independent artist who self-funded One Shot.
“This isn’t my first rodeo but it does feel like a fresh start. There’s lots to come in 2026 but first I want to celebrate One Shot.
“That record has never been centre stage in front of the fans. One Shot never realised its true potential. It’s time to put that right.”
One Shot was originally released at the height of the global pandemic and while Lynne’s fans were quick to snap up a passionate body of work there was no way to celebrate the songs live.
February’s dates will put One Shot where it belongs — up front and centre for fans who’ve been following Lynne’s career since she emerged as the compelling voice of Saint Jude.
And the full band shows will introduce an all-new line-up that’s been busily working on fresh material behind the scenes.
“This is an opportunity to play live with the people who’ve been working on my new music,” adds Lynne. “There’s a collective consciousness that will shine through on stage. We’re experimenting and unlocking new things every day.”
Lynne’s first live dates of 2026 won’t be her last. But February’s select gigs are set to be something truly special as one of British rock’s most soulful voices gets up close and personal with fans at four storied independent venues — including The Cluny on February 12.
“I’ve got such a loyal fan base in the north of England and I’ve made some good friends up in Newcastle over the years,” explains Lynne. “I can’t wait to play One Shot with a full live band at The Cluny.
“Newcastle is a music city with an incredible heritage and this is an opportunity to be part of a fantastic independent music scene. I’ve never played The Cluny before and it feels like it’s been a long time coming!
“With all of these shows I want to start some new conversations, create some excitement around the new music and remind people what One Shot means to me.
“These live dates are a litmus test. It’s a chance to gauge the reaction of my loyal fans — who were like a family to me during lockdown — and introduce a new audience to my music.
“I’ve picked places that are close to my heart at a time when I feel like I’m on the verge of something really exciting. It feels like the time we headed to Muscle Shoals to cut One Shot. Anything is possible.”
Lynne is counting down the days until her hotly anticipated live return with One Shot sounding better than ever and her new songs set to bolster a robust back catalogue.
“I love the live experience,” adds Lynne. “I leave nothing out there. It’s where I built my reputation and where I’ll always put that reputation on the line.”
