Lindisfarne Festival saved as founder returns to lead 10th Anniversary
The sun is NOT setting on the much-loved event as fans prepare for an extra special end-of-summer party on the Northumberland coast
The Lindisfarne Festival will go ahead this summer, despite recent uncertainty over its future.
In what will be music to the ears of ticketholders, the much-loved event on the Northumberland coast will take place as planned over the last weekend in August after investors who are also behind County Durham’s Hardwick Festival stepped in to save it.
And the first thing they did was bring back Lindisfarne Festival’s founder, Conleth Maenpaa, as Festival director.
Now the 10th anniversary of the camping weekender, which has built a reputation as the region’s ‘ultimate end of summer party’ looks set to be more celebratory than ever.
A statement published across the Festival’s social media channels, said the event was under new ownership, officially back in business and under the care of its original founder, “with an exciting new chapter ahead”.
It went on: “Conleth launched Lindisfarne in 2015 and, alongside an incredible team, grew it into one of the UK’s most respected and best-loved independent festivals”.

The news follows the collapse of Wannasee, the company that took over the festival last year (2024) and had been planning several regional events before entering talks with liquidators.
As other events including Monument, Kubix and Northern Kin festivals were cancelled, doubts grew over whether Lindisfarne, which takes place at Beal Farm, near Holy Island, would survive. But those doubts have been firmly put to bed.
Conleth, who was at the helm until 2023, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be back. Lindisfarne Festival is in my heart, and I can’t wait to welcome our pilgrims back to the Northumberland coast.
“The event has been saved. It’s in very safe hands, and we’ve got an exciting future ahead of us. In turbulent times for the industry, this is one story with a happy ending - we’ll be bringing Lindisfarne Festival back to the level it deserves to be at.”
The announcement also assured all existing ticket holders that their tickets would be honoured and said that tickets for the event would be back on sale soon.
Confirmed details of dates, pricing and the line-up will also follow in the coming days.
